Get Down with the Boogie

20 Dec

Reverb Broads prompt for December 20, 2011: Life is a work of art, or so they say.  What beauty do you regularly appreciate/revere in your life? via Neha

For nearly 20 years of my life, I danced. It was a HUGE part of my life and I miss it like crazy. Well, my hips and knees don’t, but the rest of me does. There is just nothing on earth that expresses emotions, sentiments, and thoughts as fully as dancing. Dance brings music to life. It could be a song I totally hated, but if the choreography is any kind of good, it usually changes my mind. Thanks to the increase in the amount of dance on TV and well, the internet, good dance is never more that just a few clicks away so I can indulge in it regularly.

Here are some of my favorite pieces (mostly from SYTYCD because I have an unhealthy relationship with that show):

Slow Dancing in a Burning Room – John Mayer
Choreographed by Wade Robson
Performed by Pam Chu & Ben Susak

Gravity – Sara Barielles
Choreographed by Mia Michaels
Performed by Kayla Radomski & Kupono Aweau

Fix You – Coldplay
Choreographed by Travis Wall
Performed by Allison Holker & Robert Roldan
